RVA Pieces Spring Rapid

We are proud to announce our first ever USCF rated tournament will be taking place on Saturday, April 1st at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 5600 Monument Ave. The RVA Pieces Spring Rapid will be the first of many seasonal rated rapid events. 

Registration:
You can pre-register online under the tournament table at our website for $30, or register the day of from 8:30-9:45 at the front desk for $40

In order to enter, you must be a USCF Member, which you can register for on the USCF website. If you are not currently a member you can also sign up for a USCF Membership when you arrive.

Format:
The tournament will be a five round Swiss with the time control of 25 minutes plus a 2 second increment per move. 

Rules:
Touch move is in effect, if you touch a piece you must move it unless the move is illegal. Notation is not required but highly encouraged. Scoresheets will be provided.

Awards as soon as the last game is finished

Prizes:
Prizes are dependent on the total number of entries. The following prizes are guaranteed and can only go up based on attendance. 

Open Section: 
1st: $150
2nd: $80
3rd: $40

U1200:
1st: $60
2nd: $30

Additional: If you have a clock or board, please bring it! We will have clocks available for rent or purchase if neither player has a clock.
