RVA Pieces July Rapid

Exciting news! RVA Pieces is doing our next rapid tournament Saturday July 29th and the Holiday Inn Express in Downtown (201 E Cary St, Richmond, VA 23219). Same format as the first rapid tournament, five round Swiss with the time control of 25 minutes plus a 2 second increment per move. In order to enter, you must be a USCF Member, which you can register for on the USCF website. If you are not currently a member you can also sign up for a USCF Membership when you arrive. If you played in the first rapid tournament then you are already a USCF member and are good to go. 

Registration:
You can pre-register online under the tournament table at our website for $40 up until July 25. From then on registration will be $50. You can also register the day of from 8:30-9:30. 

Rules:
Touch move is in effect, if you touch a piece you must move it unless the move is illegal. Each player is responsible for notating each of their moves to the best of their ability. Scoresheets will be provided for those who don’t have a notation pad.

Awards as soon as the last game is finished

Prizes:
Prizes are dependent on the total number of entries, with a minimum of $300 in total available. Prize pool will increase with higher number of participants. 

Additional: If you have a clock or board, please bring it! We will have clocks available for rent or purchase if neither player has a clock.

There will be limited food available on-site available during the tournament. Players will have the opportunity to order food to be delivered as there are a variety of delivery options in the area.
