RVA Pieces Fire Drill Open

FORMAT: 3 Rounds, Swiss System. This is not an elimination tournament; everyone gets to play 3 games of chess unless there is an odd number of players in a section.
    - 2 Sections:  Championship and Under 1200.
    - All games will be rated by the US Chess Federation.

WHEN: Friday and Saturday, July 14-15, 2023.
    - Friday, 7/14: RVA Pieces Fire Drill Blitz Tournament, 3 double-rounds. 

On-site Registration from 4:30-5:15pm

Round 1 of Blitz at 6pm sharp, Time Control is Game 5 with 2 second increment.
    - Saturday, 7/15: RVA Pieces Fire Drill Open
      + Round 1 at 10am, Game-60 + 10 sec.
      + Round 2 at 1:30pm, Game-60 + 10 sec
      + Round 3 at 4:30pm, Game-60 + 10 sec

    - Classical Entry Fee: $50
    - Blitz Entry Fee: $30

    - All players must be current members of the U.S. Chess Federation. Please join or renew your US Chess before the tournament.

TOURNAMENT EQUIPMENT:
    - Boards and pieces will be available or you may use your own.
    - Bring your increment-capable chess clock.
    - Health protocols: Masks are optional, we will have ample supplies of hand sanitizer and sanitizing wipes.

Classical:

Fire Drill Open Section:   1st to 3rd places ($100, $75, $50)

Fire Drill U1200 Section: 1st & 2nd places ($75, $50)

Blitz:

Friday Fire Drill Blitz Open: 1st to 3rd places ($75, $50, $30)

Friday Fire Drill Blitz U1200: 1st & 2nd places ($50, $30)
