RiseNShine Quads – Nov 7th

OVERVIEW

• Tournament Format: Round-Robin
• Total Rounds: 3
• Round Times: 2 pm and Rounds 2 & 3 on a rolling schedule
• Time Control: G/30;+5  (Game in 30 minutes with a 5-second increment at each move.)
• Games will be US Chess regular & quick-rated (so called dual-rated).
• Players will be split into groups of four (quads) based on their ratings, from the highest-rated to the lowest-rated.
• In case the last quad is not four players, they will play a mini-3 round Swiss tournament with 5-7 players or they may play double round robin.
• The higher of Monthly published USCF regular rating or live rating will be used for pairing purposes.
• Minor roster shifts to avoid family member pairings may be possible
• No byes are available
• Forfeit time is 30 minutes

Entry Fee:

• $25 on or before November 2nd (Monday)
• $30 through November 6th (Friday)
• $35 on November 7th (Saturday) until 12:00 PM (noon)

Refunds are available only for cancellations made on or before Friday, November 6th , and will incur a $5 administrative fee.

Registrations may also be transferred to a future tournament if requested on or before Friday, November 6th .
No refunds for no-shows.

PRIZES

For each quad,

- Trophy for 1st place.

- Trophy for 2nd place.

- Participation medals for all other players.

Special prizes:

- Trophy for best parent-kid pair (cumulative score and cumulative tiebreak score)

- Trophy for best siblings pair (cumulative score and cumulative tiebreak score)

REQUIREMENTS

• Players must have current US Chess Federation membership. Expiration date of their US Chess membership must be later than the last day of the tournament.
