RiseNShine $$ Cash $$ Sectional – Oct 17th

OVERVIEW

• Prize: $1600 Guaranteed prize money with 40 paid entries
• Tournament Format: SWISS Sectional
• Total Rounds: 4
• Round Times: 10:30 AM, 12:30 PM, 2:30 PM and 4:30 PM
• Time Control: G/40;+10  (Game in 40 minutes with a 10-second increment at each move.)
• Games will be US Chess rated.
• Players will be split equally into groups with ten max in a group (sections) based on their ratings, from the highest-rated to the lowest-rated. Each section will play a 4-round Swiss.
• The higher of Monthly published USCF regular rating or live rating will be used for pairing purposes.
• No byes are available
• Cash Prize for Top 2 in each section (a section max is 10 players)
• Forfeit time is 40 minutes

Entry Fee:

• $50 on or before October 9th (Friday)
• $60 through October 14th (Wednesday)
• $75 till October 17th (Saturday) until 9:30 AM
• No onsite registration

Refunds are available only for cancellations made on or before Sunday, October 11th .
No refunds for cancellations after October 11th or for no-shows.

POLICY

A minimum of 10 players must be registered by end of Sunday October 11th for the tournament to take place. If this minimum is not met, the tournament will be canceled and all registered players will receive a full refund.

PRIZES

Cash prize for Top 2 in each section.

100% of all the collected entry fee minus a flat $400 operating cost goes directly into the cash prize pool.

Example1: With 40 players registered at the base $50 entry fee, the total cash prize fund is a guaranteed $1,600. This will be distributed equally among the 8 winners across 4 sections ($200 per winner!).

Example2: With 20 players registered at the base $50 entry fee, the total cash prize fund is a guaranteed $600. This will be distributed equally among the 4 winners across 2 sections ($150 per winner!).

Example3: With 10 players registered at the base $50 entry fee, the total cash prize fund is a guaranteed $100. This will be distributed equally among the 2 winners across 1 section ($50 per winner!).

In the event of tie within a section, the cash prize allotted for that section will be split equally.

Prizes are sent through Zelle payments.

• Players must have current US Chess Federation membership. Expiration date of their US Chess membership must be later than the last day of the tournament.
