USCF-rated Open Section (Iowa Mini-Qualifier): USCF and IASCA membership required.  IASCA membership, $10 available on-site. Other states OK.  4 round Swiss. Rds 10 a.m., 1:15 p.m., 3:45 p.m. and 6 p.m. TC: G/65, d5.  Prizes:  1st: $150, 2nd: $125, 3rd: $100, 4th: $75. Prizes based on 15 players, otherwise 80% guaranteed. EF: $30 online before 8/3. Unrated Beginner Kids Section:  For kids just getting started in tournament play and do not have a USCF rating. $10 entry fee. Additional information: Byes: One 1/2 point bye per player. Last round bye must be requested prior to the start of round 2. Byes for other rounds must be requested 1 hour prior to start of round.  NO ELECTRONIC SCORESHEETS.  Cell phones must be off when in playing area. Light refreshments and pizza provided by Western Illinois University.
