5 Rounds Swiss

Sections: Premier (FIDE), Intermediate(FIDE), Novice (USCF Rated)

Players with a FIDE rating of 1900+ OR USCF 2100+ are eligible to play in the Premier section.

Players with a USCF rating between 1500 and 2100 are eligible to play in the Intermediate section.

Players with a USCF rating less than 1500 are eligible to play in the Novice section.

*Ratings are considered from June 1, 2026 onwards

Prizes: $5200 total prize fund based on 100 full paid entries; Novice section counts at 70%

Premier: $1200/$600/$400/$200 Class Prize U2100 (FIDE): $400 (Total $2800) 

Intermediate: $800/$400/$200/$100 Class Prize U1700(FIDE): $200 (Total $1700) 

Novice: $400/$200/$100 (Total $700) Unr limit $200

Schedule: 

All Sections: 8/14 at 7:00 PM, 8/15 at 10 AM and 4 PM, 8/16 at 9 AM and 3 PM.

Onsite Registration closes at 6 PM on 8/14  (after that players may register with a half-point bye)

Byes

Up to two irrevocable half-point byes allowed. ½ point byes can be requested until 9 AM on 8/15. Afterwards, only 0-point byes are allowed.

A first round bye must be requested by 6 PM on 8/14

NOTE: Players who withdraw from the tournament are not eligible for any prizes. You can request zero point byes anytime.

NOTE: August 2026 USCF Ratings will be used for Pairings. The organizer reserves the right to use a different rating system/conversion for any specific players or section as appropriate.

LIMITED Conditions for GM/IM/WGM/WIM in PREMIER Section based on Availability: 

Free entry and no prize deductions for GM/IM/WGM/WIM if committed by 8/2. After 8/2, free entry but $150 deducted from prizes.

Must play all 5 rounds. No byes or tournament withdrawal allowed.

Time Control:

All games G/90;+30

Forfeit Time (All Sections): 60 minutes

Entry Fee:

Premier and Intermediate: $150 by 8/2, $175 by 8/12, $200 on/after 8/13

Novice:  $105 by 8/2, $120 by 8/12, $140 on/after 8/13

All entry fee deadlines are in EST. Please select the correct entry fee option for your section while registering. 

For Marriott reservations with a chess rate of $169/night, call 609-452-7800 and mention ‘Atlantic Chess Tournament’.

Boards and pieces will be provided. Please bring a pen to write and a chess clock if you have it. Players must know how to set up their own clock.

No Electronic Notation Devices are allowed in any Section. Strict policy in place for cell phones and all electronic devices.

Withdrawals are subject to a 10% processing fee. Full credit can be used for any future ACA tournament.
