All K-12 players are invited to join us for this special tournament! (No residency requirement.)
SCHEDULE
8:45 Doors open. There is no check-in; all registered players will be paired.
9:30 Round One for all sections will begin following announcements in the playing hall.
Rounds 1 & 2 will be played prior to lunch.
Round 3 will start at 12:45 for all sections. Subsequent rounds are paired ASAP.
Awards ceremonies take place for each section after that section's final round is complete.
SECTIONS
- SECTION I: K-5th U800 Five rounds, G/30. K-5th graders rated under 800.
- SECTION II: 6-12th U800 Five rounds, G/30. 6-12th graders rated under 800.
- SECTION III: K-12th U1200 Five rounds, G/30. All grades rated under 1200.
- SECTION IV: K-12th Open Five rounds, G/30; d5. All grades rated over 1200. Clocks required & Provided. Notation is strongly encouraged.
PRIZES
Trophies for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd-place individuals. Medals for players with scores of 3.0+.
SPECTATOR POLICY
Spectators are not permitted in the playing hall while games are being played. Players must exit the playing hall after finishing their games and reporting their scores.
When the first round is paired, parents are encouraged to accompany their players as they find their boards and listen to morning announcements. You may remain for the first five minutes of the first round only to observe your player and take a photo. After the first five minutes, we will ask you to return to the waiting area.
For rounds 2-5 parents who wish to escort their players into the playing hall may do so, but must then return to the waiting area. Since we need to keep the playing hall quiet, please, NO talking while finding your child's board. Thank you for your understanding.
EQUIPMENT
- SETS are provided for tournament games, but players are encouraged to bring their own for skittles (waiting area).
- CLOCKS: please bring your own if you have one. Clocks may be purchased from Wholesale Chess. You can support OSCO by using the link on our homepage.
SCORESHEETS are provided for this tournament.
REGISTRATION
Registration ends April 24th. No registrations will be accepted after the deadline.
Entry is $25/player. Parents registering three or more siblings at the same time: $20/player.
Current U.S. Chess membership is required. For Oklahoma resident players, OSCO sponsors one-year memberships for new players and half-price renewals for memberships that have expired.
New Players: If your child does not have a USCF ID, please do not register them with US Chess. OSCO will do this for you if there are vouchers left. Once you've completed registration, you will receive a confirmation email with a link to a new player membership form. Simply submit this form and OSCO will process the membership at no charge to you.
Expired Memberships: Check here to see if your player's membership is current and will not expire before the tournament. Players who need to renew may do so through OSCO at the discounted membership of $10/year. Please choose the regular entry + renewal option ($35). Follow the link in your confirmation email and submit the membership renewal form.
Out-of-state players can purchase first-time memberships or renewals through OSCO for $10. Choose the $35 entry fee when registering.
