Event Overview
4 round Swiss. Time control: Game in 25 minutes with 5 sec delay. Boards, sets, clocks and scoresheets will be provided.
Registration: Go to www.phoenixchessacademy.com. USCF membership is required. New or renewing USCF members are welcome. Highest rating will be used for Swiss pairings and prize purposes.
Sections: Open, Under 1700 & Under 1200 (No playing up allowed). Sections will be combined in case a section has less than 4 players registered.
Schedule: Round 1- 9:00 AM, Round 2- 10:05 AM, Round 3- 11:10 AM, Round 4- 12:15 PM. Awards Ceremony will start right after last game is over. Half point Byes are available in all 4 rounds and (Max 2) and must be requested before round 2. Requesting a zero-point bye late in the tournament is considered the same as withdrawing.
Entry Fee: $25.00 by 01/21; $30 by 01/23; $35 same day. Full refund will be issued to players who withdraw at least an hour before the first round. In cases where a registered player does not show up for the tournament without prior notice, they will not be eligible for a refund.
Prizes: Trophies for top three in each section.
A player will automatically forfeit the game if going in the bathroom with a cellphone.
