Jacques deMoss is an accomplished association/nonprofit leader with a passion for successful collaboration as well as a history of successfully engaging multiple stakeholders and incorporating their input achieving strategic association mission goals and financial objectives. A native of Lafayette, Louisiana, he moved to Missouri almost 10 years ago and has made it his home along with his wife of 26 years, Melanie, and their son, Mason. Before joining US Chess, Jacques served as a litigation attorney, corporate general counsel and non-profit leader.

He holds a B.A. in Economics/Business Management from University of Louisiana-Lafayette and a Juris Doctorate from Oklahoma City University School of Law. Beyond his professional endeavors, Jacques enjoys breeding and training Drahthaar hunting dogs, cooking, gardening, keeping bees, and he is a certificated private pilot. He is admittedly a pretty poor chess player but is planning on working on improving his game.

Jacques is stationed in the St. Louis office and responsible for the business side of US Chess including budgeting and oversight of Communications/Publications, HR, Accounting, and Member complaint functions.
