Pacific Southwest Open

8 Round Swiss in 5 sections, No 2-day schedule, but 3 byes are available! 

Round and time controls are different for each day.

Friday June 30: 7 PM and 8:30 PM, G/40;d10, or take two byes.

Saturday July 1: 9AM, 12 Noon, 4PM and 7PM, G/60;d10. Sunday July 2: 10 AM and 3 PM.  G/120;d10

Prizes: 1. Elite Section: $1,600/1,000/600/400/200/100; plus BU2300: $600/400; Must be at least 1900 to play in the Elite Section

2. Open Section: $800/400/200/100; plus BU1900: $600/300/100. 

3. U1800 Section: $800/400/200/100; plus BU1600: $600/300/100.

4. U1400 Section: $800/400/200/100; plus BU1200: $400/200/100.

5. U1000 Section: $400/300/200

The USCF July Supplement will be used as the official ratings for pairings & prizes.

Entry fee: $90 Early Bird Rate if received by 4/30/23, special rate of $100 in effect from May 1st to 5/31/23, normal rate of $120 from 6/01 to 6/21/23; then rate goes to $140 if you pay on 6/23 or later. $150 rate for walk-ups on 6/30 or 7/01. Special rate of only $80 for players U1200 or unrated. Unrated players can only win books, chess sets or clocks. Provisional players (25 rated games or less) can only win %50 of any prize, the balance goes to the remaining prize winners. Refunds: $15, no exceptions. Three half point byes are available, must request at least on hour before the round; last round byes are available but must be requested before round 4 and are irrevocable!
