New Sections & Added Prizes

MIXED R.I. AMATEUR TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP (Teams of Any 4 Players) – Open to Out-of-State Players

Pick your Own Team of 4 Players – Mixed with Both Adult / Scholastic, or whatever mix you want.

Location:
New England Institute of Technology
1 New England Tech Blvd., East Greenwich, RI 02818

Format: 3SS; G/45+10. There 3 Rounds, Each player gets 45 minutes each with 10 second increment
 

Start Time: Players will check-in at 9:45 am for announcements, Round 1 will start at 10:00 am. End around 4:30 pm

Schedule: Round 1: 10:00-12:00 pm. Lunch 12:00-12:40 pm. Round 2 @ 12:45-2:45. Round 3 @ 2:45-4:45 pm
 

2 SECTIONS:
* Open Mixed Team Section – Team of Any Mixed 4 Players. Can be all Adult Team or Mixed Adult & Scholastic Team
* Scholastic Mixed K-12 Section – Team of 4 Scholastic Players, Grades K-12, any grade, any school, any state
 

Rules for 4 Player Teams
* Teams should have 4 players (no less than a minimum of 3 players). Extra players will be assigned to teams if needed
* Open to Out-of-State players, teams can have players of any age, any state, any school/grade
* Board numbers 1, 2, 3, 4 will be ordered based on current rating (May 2025 USCF Supplement)
* Format will be Fixed Roster Team: Board 1 vs Board 1, Board 2 vs board 2, Board 3 vs. Board 3, etc.
* For Pairing purposes only, each team will receive an average rating (add 4 ratings divide by 4) to be used to pair teams
* Individuals can sign up and will be placed on a team if or as a substitute player
* Players must have a USCF Membership, Tournament will be Dual-Rated
* Teams can take a 1/2 point team bye for only one round, must be in advance before tournament starts
* Sections can be combined if needed, all prizes from both sections will still be awarded
 

TEAM PRIZES: $600+ = Total in Trophies, Medals, Free Tournament Entries, & Cash Prizes = $200 b/20 players

OPEN MIXED TEAM SECTION PRIZES = Mix of All Adult, or Mixed Adult & Scholastic
* 1st Place Mixed Team: receives 4 Team 1st Place Championship Trophies, plus $200 in cash team prizes
* 2nd Place Mixed Team: receives 4 Chess Trophies, plus 4 Free Entries to any OSCA tournament (worth up to $200)
* 3rd Place Mixed Team: will receive 4 New Leap Chess Clocks, one for each player (worth $100+)

SCHOLASTIC MIXED K-12 SECTION PRIZES = All team players must be grades K-12, from any school, any state, any grade
* 1st Place All Scholastic K-12 Team: will receive 4 – 1st Place Trophies, one for each team player
* 2nd Place All Scholastic K-12 Team: will receive 4 – 2nd Place Trophies for team players
* 3rd Place All Scholastic K-12 Team: will receive 4 Medals, one for each player
 

Entry Fee
4 Player team = $100 for a Team 4 players, until Friday, May 2
Individual Players = $25 registration, until Friday, May 2 – Individual will be added to a team
Late Entry Fee the day of the event is $10 extra per player, may receive 1/2 point bye if arrive too late
