Format: 4SS, G/30; d5 – 4 Rounds.
Round 1 starts around 10:00 AM and finish around 3:30 PM
 

SECTIONS
* OPEN WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP – Open Championship – Any Age (USCF RATED) – USCF Required
* OPEN GIRLS CHAMPIONSHIP – Girls, Grade K-12 (USCF RATED) – USCF Membership Required
* UNRATED SECTION – All Ages– Girls & Women’s Section – USCF Membership NOT Required
 

PRIZES
Trophies for 1st Place, 2nd Place, 3rd Place in every section.
Medals to all players who receive 2.5 or more points.
1st Place R.I. Championship Winner in both rated sections, must be a Rhode Island resident.
Out-of-state players are Eligible for separate 1st Place Trophy. All players eligible for 2nd & 3rd Places, Medals
 

ENTRY FEES
OPEN WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP: Registration $35 (by 1/9/2026); Late Registration – Day of Event is $40

OPEN GIRL’S CHAMPIONSHIP = Registration $30 (by 1/9/2026). Late Registration – Day of Event is $35

UNRATED GIRLS & WOMEN’S = Registration $25 (by 1/9/2026). Late Registration – Day of Event is $30

* Note: Late Registration – Day of Event 1/10/ 2026 Registration is $5 More

ADDITIONAL TOURNAMENT INFORMATION

•  St. Mary Bay View is the oldest and most prestigious All-Girls School in Rhode Island founded in 1874
• Tournament will be held in the Library
• Plenty of Parking, Beautiful Venue
• Pre-registration check-in from 9:25 – 9:45 AM.
• Late entries Day of Event may receive a 1/2 pt. bye round 1, or be paired with late entries
• Byes must be requested in advance. 
• Tournament will run continuously
• All participants in OPEN Championship Women’s & Girl’s Section must be registered with the U.S. Chess Federation
  as a “Girl” or “Woman.” – These are Rules and policies we must follow as the USCF R.I. State Affiliate.
• Chess sets & clocks will be provided
   
• R.I. Winners will represent Rhode Island in the National USCF Girls K-12 Haring National Girls Chess Tournament
