On Saturday, October 26 at 2:00 pm, the Saint Petersburg Chess Club is proud to host a very special event with one of the most popular and accomplished women in chess history — Grandmaster Susan Polgar.

Schedule:

  • Lecture: Susan will present and analyze some of her most famous games.
  • Q&A Session: An opportunity to ask questions directly to a chess legend.
  • Photo Break: Take a picture with Susan.
  • Book Signing: Susan will have 8 of her best books available for purchase and signing.
  • Raffle:  Every registered player will receive one raffle ticket, with at least 5 winners  (possibly more). Additional tickets will be available for purchase on-site.

 About Susan Polgar:

  • Born in Hungary, Susan Polgar showed brilliance from an early age, winning the Budapest U11 Championship with a perfect 10–0 score at just 4 years old.
  • By age 12, she won the Girls U16 World Youth Chess Festival.
  • At 15, she became the youngest ever world #1 ranked female player.
  • In 1986, she qualified for the Men’s World Championship, breaking barriers in chess history.
  • In 1991, she became the first woman to earn the Grandmaster title by norms and rating.
  • The only player in history to earn all six of chess’s most prestigious crowns.
