November Rising Star FIDE Classic on Nov 29-Dec 01, 2024 (Friday, Saturday,  and Sunday)

Format: 6-round Swiss tournament

Time Controls:
     3-day Schedule: G/90;+30 all rounds
     2-day Schedule: G/30;+5 for rounds 1-3, G/90;+30 for rounds 4-6

Four Sections:
     Premier (2000 and Up), FIDE Rated
     U2000 (1600-1999, FIDE Rated)
     U1600 (1200-1599)
     U1200 (100-1199)
     Players rated 1900-1999 may play up into the Premier Section for an additional $25.
     Players within 100 points of rating floor of lower sections may play up for an additional $15.

Important:
     • USCF regular ratings apply for all sections. Premier & U2000 sections are also FIDE rated.
     • USCF membership required (may be purchased or renewed at on site)
     • November 2024 USCF ratings will be used for section eligibility, pairings, and prize eligibility.
       Other ratings may be used if higher. The decision of the Chief Tournament Director regarding
       eligibility, rating adjustments, conversions, unofficial ratings, or other rating issues is final.
     • A maximum of three half-point byes is available. Half-point byes must be requested no later than
       30 minutes before the round starts for rounds 1-3. Half-point byes for rounds 4-6 must be requested
       before the start of round 3 and may not be revoked after round 3 starts.
     • Boards, sets, scoresheets, AND clocks will be provided for all sections.
     • Special Side Event: Nov Rising Star FIDE Blitz, Saturday, Nov 30 @ 7:30 pm 
     • Special Side Event: Nov Rising Star 800, Saturday, Nov 30 @ 10:00 am

Prizes: $4500 Total Prize Fund (based on 100 entries):
       Premier: $1000/$500/$250, 1st U2200: $150
       U2000:   $750/$375/$175,   1st U1800: $125
       U1600:   $625/$300/$150,   1st U1400: $100
       U1200:   Trophies for top 3, 1st U1000

Schedule:
     3-Day Rounds: 10:00 am & 3:00 pm Fri, Sat, & Sun
     2-Day Rounds:
          Sat:  Rd 1   10:00 am. Rd 2 11:30 am, Rd 3 1:00 pm, Rd 4* 3:00 pm
          Sun: Rd 5   10:00 am, Rd 6   3:00 pm
          *Merge with the 3-day players on Saturday at 3:00 pm in round 4.

Entry Fees:
     Free entry for any GM/WGM/IM/WIM/FM/WFM
     Premier: $100 early, $110 late, $125 on site.
     U2000:     $90 early, $100 late, $115 on site.
     U1600:     $75 early,   $85 late, $100 on site.
     U1200:     $60 early,   $70 late,   $85 on site.

Re-entry:  3-day players may re-enter into 2-day schedule before 9:15 am on Saturday
                  Re-entry fees: Premier: $35; U2000: $30; U1600: $25; U1200: $20

Online Registration: Rising Star FIDE Classic Registration
Early online registration is available until Thu, Nov 21 at midnight MST for 3-day or Fri, Nov 22 for 2-day.
Late online registration is available until Thu, Nov 28 at midnight MST for 3-day or Fri, Nov 29 for 2-day.
On-site registration is until 9:30 am on Fri, Nov 29 for 3-day or 9:30 am on Sat, Nov 30 for 2-day.
Late on-site registration is available with half point byes for any rounds that are missed.

Refunds: Refunds may be requested until one hour before the start of round 1. No refunds will be given after that time.
                 All refunds will incur a 5% processing fee.
