Event Overview
Description & Schedule
Join us in the morning for a 30 minute lesson and the following simultaneous exhibition with National Master Ian Harris. Participants in grades K-12 will challenge NM Harris in their own individual games while the master plays up to 16 participants at the same time!
Lesson & Simul: 10:30am-12:30pm
Lunch Break & Free Play: 12:30-1:00pm
Tournament: 1:00-2:30pm
The afternoon tournament, open to grades K-12, will begin at 1:00pm following a lunch break. Participants may register for each event individually or both. The tournament will be four rounds with a time control of ten minutes per player with a five second delay per move in one single section. This is NOT a rated event.
Prizes
Simultaneous Exhibition: Any player that manages to defeat NM Harris or the "last person standing" will receive a special chess gift!
Tournament: Trophies to 1st - 3rd place for the top individual players in grades K-2, 3-5 and 6-12.
Notes
- All students in grades K-5 must have an adult supervisor present in the Library.
- A separate room will be available for parents and players between games and for lunch.
- This is an UNRATED tournament, no USCF membership required.
- No byes available.
- Lunch is not provided.
