2024 Northern New England Chess Championship (August 9th-11th)

6 rounds Swiss System, G/90+30 (2 day Option: Rounds 1-3 G/55d5)

Rounds: Friday, Saturday: 1pm-6pm Sunday: 10am-3pm

2-day Option: Saturday: 10am-1pm-3:30pm, Merge in Round 4

 

Prizes

 

Premier (Open to 1800+ USCF): $2500 based on 20 entries: $1000-550, U2325 $500, U2125 $450

 

Under 2025: $1500 based on 20 entries: $600-325, U1825: $300, U1625: $275

 

Under 1425: $1000 based on 20 entries: $400-220, U1225: $200, U1025/Unrated: $180

 

Entry Fee: $150 for Premier, $100 for Under 2025, $80 for Under 1425. EF $10 more after July 14th, $20 after August 7th and on site. 

 

 

Ratings are based off of the published August 2024 USCF Rating List. Prizes will be raised/decreased in proportion to the amount of entries, with 50% Guaranteed. Unrated players may only play in the Under 1425 section and are only eligible for the Unrated prize. 

 

Grand Prix: This event is a 4x multiplier in the New England Grand Prix, a new circuit of local tournaments that reward players who play and finish more events. Byes: 3 half-point byes allowed, must commit before the start of Round 2.

Registration: Online advance entry available at onlineregistration.cc. Scroll down the webpage until you see the event, which is being held by the Northern New England Chess Association. Onsite registration for all events will take place in the hour preceding the event and ends 15 minutes before the start of the event.

4 Rounds Swiss System, Game in 55 minutes with a 5 second delay

Rounds: Thursday: 10am-1pm-3:30pm-6pm

Prizes: $500 Guaranteed! $200-100, 4 Class prizes of $50 based on entries.

Entry Fee: FREE for players playing in the Northern New England Chess Championship, $30 for others.

Daily Blitz Events (August 8th-11th)

After the events of each day have concluded, a 5 Round Double Swiss (Game in 3 minutes and a 2 second increment) will take place.

Prizes: $100 Guaranteed! $40 for First, Class prizes of $25, $20, and $15. 

Entry Fee: FREE for players playing in the Northern New England Chess Championship, $10 for others.

 

Table Tennis Side Event (August 9th)

August 9th at 10am

This event will be a double elimination tournament.

Prizes: $100 Guaranteed! $50-30-20
