QUICK EVENT

• Format: Open 5-round Swiss
• Time Control: G/10 + 5
• Rounds: 1:00pm, 1:40pm, 2:20pm, 3:00pm, 3:40pm

BLITZ EVENT

• Format: Open 9-round Swiss
• Time Control: G/3 + 2
• Rounds: 5:00pm, then ASAP after each round (ends ~7:30pm)

Prize Funds

Murfreesboro Chess Club is proud to return 80% of all entry fees as prizes!

Two Separate Prize Funds:

• Quick entries = Quick Prize Fund
• Blitz entries = Blitz Prize Fund

Each Prize Fund is distributed as follows:

• 1st Place: 25%
• 2nd Place: 15%
• 3rd Place: 10%
• U2000, U1800, U1600, U1400, U1200, U1000: 5% each

Prize funds and class prizes may be adjusted based on turnout to ensure fair competition in each rating group. Any changes will be announced before play begins. All expenses are paid from the remaining 20%. Any and all profits after expenses go toward Speed Series Grand Prix prizes!

Speed Series Grand Prix Prizes

• Champion: $300
• 2nd Place: $150
• 3rd Place: $100
• Top Score + Most Events Played: $50

Grand Prix prizes are based on combined scores across all TN Summer Speed Series events (must play at least two events to qualify).

Entry Fees

• Early/Online: $40 for Quick or Blitz, $50 for both events
• On-site: Add $10 to above fees
• IMs/GMs: Free entry, but $40 withheld from any prize won

US Chess Membership is required for all participants.
