MSJE 2025 Spooktacular Quads

MSJE 2025 Spooktacular Quads is a free event for all members of MSJE Chess community. 

Date: Friday Oct 31, 2025

Time: 1:45pm - 4:30pm (Check-in by 1:40 PM)

Rating: USCF Dual-Rated. Players must have current US Chess Federation membership.

Capacity: 60 

Tournament Format: Quads. 

Quadrangular tournaments divide the entrants into groups of four in rating order. The four highest-rated players form the first group, etc. These players then play three-game round robins.  When the total number of entries is not divisible by four,  a 3-round Swiss among the lowest five to seven players is created.

Time Control: G/25;+5 

Round Times:  1st round starts at 1:45pm, subsequent rounds on rolling schedule, expect end time around 4pm (top quads may finish closer to 4:30pm) 

Equipment:

• Chess sets will be provided.
• Please bring own notation sheets and pencils. Notation is required, per MSJE Chess Head Coach's policy.
