Players will all play in a single section.

  • Registration

Players may register early or onsite from 9:00 am until the second round starts. You may contact the organizer to early register at [email protected]. Entry fees ($20 if early, $25 if the day of) may be paid in person or online at the request of the player, providing the tournament organizer has the ability to receive the payment. The venue does not allow the organizer to collect an entry fee on library property in cash, so on-site entrants and the organizer or a representative of the organizer will most likely have to walk outside to pay entry fee.

  • Rounds

Players will play 4 rounds of G/45;+5. Round times are expected to be at 9:30, 11:15, 1:15, and 3:00, outside factors permitting. There will be 30 minutes allotted for a lunch break in between rounds 2 and 3. Players may leave for lunch as soon as their round 2 game concludes. Rounds will be accelerated when possible.

  • Details

Byes - one 1/2 point bye is allowed if requested before the start of round 2. After the start of round 2, any byes requested become irrevocable.

Equipment - please brings chess clocks, sets, and pens if you have them.

Late Arrival - Players who are running late should contact the tournament director. They may request to have a half point bye or to be paired for the round.

Tournament director will also be playing in the tournament.

Space at the tournament venue is limited, please pre-register to ensure we have a spot for you.

Electronics policy - Players may not access cellphones or other electronic devices until their game has concluded, in this circumstance, they become a spectator and are required to conduct themselves as such. Failure to comply with this rule will result in immediate forfeiture of the round and all further rounds, and removal from the tournament. Spectators may access electronic devices if they are a sufficient distance away from any competitor. Spectators may not communicate with any player. Failure to adhere will result in removal from the playing hall. 

 

Conduct policy- Players and spectators must behave in a becoming manner. Any unsportsmanlike conduct will not be tolerated. Breech of this rule will result in a punishment such as, but not limited to: forfeiture of current round, removal from tournament, and removal from playing hall as determined by the organizer.
