Information for the Midnight Sun Summer Send-Off Chess Tournament on Saturday, August 23rd, 2025, hosted by the Alaska Chess Federation in partnership with the Alaska Chinese Association:

Player Capacity: 50 Players maximum between all available sections.

Requirement for entry: There are three sections in this tournament – OPEN(USCF Rated) / UNDER 1100 (USCF Rated) / NON-RATED. The two rated sections are rated under the United States Chess Federation (USCF), and a valid USCF membership ID number is required to play in those sections. Also, a $20.00 entry fee will be collected for all players participating in the tournament (ACF members are eligible for $5.00 reduction in admission costs). You can check on your membership or sign up for membership with the USCF at https://new.uschess.org/

*NO prizes will be awarded at this event, as all proceeds are going towards the 2025 Alaska State Chess Championship.

*NOTE: For all players competing in the 2025 Alaska State Grand Prix Circuit - this is the last Grand Prix qualifying event of the 2025 season!

Schedule: Sign in will open at 12:05pm & Round 1 will begin promptly at 12:55pm; break after conclusion of Round 2 from 3:20pm to 3:45pm:

Time Controls: All games in this tournament will be played with G/35 time controls, meaning these games are 35 minutes per player. All three sections will have the same time controls.
