Six Wednesdays in November & December 11/6, 11/13, 11/20, 12/4, 12/11, and 12/18. Off 11/27 for Thanksgiving

2. Tournament Format:

Tournament Format: Individual Swiss

Total Rounds: 6 (1 round each Wednesday night)

Round Times: Wednesdays at 6:30PM
-
Time Control: G/75+5 (Game in 75 minutes with 5-second increment on each move.)

2 Sections: Open & Reserve (U1200)
3. Byes
-
Byes are available for players in any rounds in case they can't participate that evening, but would like to stay in the tournament.

A maximum of two half-point byes can be requested in this tournament.

Round 1-4 byes must be requested prior to the pairing of the round. Pairings usually are posted shortly after noon on Tuesday, the day before the round.

Round 5-6 byes must be requested before start of Round 3. Round 6 bye is irrevocable to prevent possible prize-fund manipulations.

Late registrations will receive a half-point bye for any missed round, up to a total of two rounds.
4. Prizes -- $1200 based on 40 paid entries. Prizes will increase proportionally after 40 entries.

Open 1st place $325, 2nd place $225, 3rd place $175, Top U1600 $100

U1200 1st place $175, 2nd place $125, 3rd place $75

Biggest Upset $50 guaranteed
5. Prize Fund -- $1200 based on 40 paid entries

Please allow a week for processing prize checks.

Per IRS rules anyone with a cumulative $600+ prizes in any calendar year will need to fill out a W9 and Growth Chess will be providing a 1099 form.
