1. Dates & Location

• Six Wednesdays in November 5th, 12th, 19th, December 3rd, 10th, and 17th.
• Off Wednesday November 26th
• Location: Growth Chess Center 4506 Regent St Madison, WI

2. Tournament Format:

• Tournament Format: Individual Swiss
• Two Sections: Open & Reserve (U1500), if there are less than 6 players in either sections will be combined. Prizes will still be separate.
• Total Rounds: 4 (1 round each Wednesday night)
• Round Times: Wednesdays at 6:30PM
• Time Control Open: G/60+30  (Game in 60 minutes with 30 second increment on each move)

3. Byes

• Byes are available for players in any rounds in case they can't participate that evening, but would like to stay in the tournament.
• A maximum of one half-point byes can be requested in this tournament.
• Round 1-3 byes must be requested prior to the pairing of the round. Pairings usually are posted shortly after noon on Tuesday, the day before the round.
• Round 4 byes must be requested before start of Round 3. Round 4 bye is irrevocable to prevent possible prize-fund manipulations.
• Late registrations will receive a half-point bye for any missed round, up to a total one round.

4. Prizes -- $900 based on 20 paid entries. Prizes will increase proportionally after 40 entries.

• 1st place $240
• 2nd place $180
• 3rd place $120
• Reserve 1st Place $150
• Reserve 2nd Place $120
• Reserve 3rd Place $90

5. Prize Fund --  $900 based on 20 paid entries

• Please allow a week for processing prize checks.
• Per IRS rules anyone with a cumulative $600+ prizes in any calendar year will need to fill out a W9 and Growth Chess will be providing a 1099 form.
• Max Capacity: 50

6. Registration for Both Sections -- Including Single Game Option!

• $60 by 11/5
• Entry Prorated after each round
• Single Round Option available for any round $15
