Entry Fee (Open, Senior, U1900, U1500): $96 early 
Entry Fee (U1100): $48 early 
Entry Fee (U700): $24 early 
Unrated Entry Fee in U1100, U700: $24 early (eligible for unrated prizes only) 
"No-prize" Entry Fee for under age 18 in U1900, U1500, U1100: $24 early (any prize donated to scholastics) 
    Players under age 18 may also pay full entry to be prize eligible

Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express accepted (add 3.5% to EF), refunds will have 3.5% deducted. 
All sections: Mailed entries should be postmarked by Jan 23. Entries after Jan 28 including on-site cost 12.5% more (please pre-register!)  
USCF membership required.  NCCA membership required for NC residents. 
No extra charge to play 1 section above your rating (must pay that section’s entry fee) 
Sets and clocks are not provided … please bring your own

Byes: one ½-pt bye available any round, declare by round 2 
Registration: Fri 5-6pm for Friday round; Saturday by 8am for 1st round, by 1pm for 2nd round 
Rounds: 1st rd either Fri 7pm or Sat 9am, then Sat 2pm – 7pm, Sun 9am – 2pm 
    Saturday morning round is FIDE-rated 
    “Default Time” is 30 minutes (forfeit when 30 minutes late).  Cell phones may be kept in bag in playing room if powered off. 
Hotel: $116. Reserve early at 828-254-3211 or 800-733-3211 and mention “Land of the Sky chess tournament” 
    Block of rooms for tournament will be released to general public on January 9 so availability may be limited afterwards

Rated Blitz: Saturday morning 10am; Entry Fee: $20; Sections determined after entries; 95% of entry fees paid in prizes

Re-entry available in all sections except Open: $12 after 1st round 

Pairings – February USCF ratings used – Open: FIDE Dutch with Baku Acceleration 
Senior, U1900, U1500, U1100, U700: Accelerated with cuts at 1600, 1600, 1300, 900, 500 
Class pairings possible. Submit roster of club members to avoid intra-club pairings.
