Swiss System tournament

One round is played every Thursday. Players may enter the tournament at any point during the month! Example: If a player missed the first three rounds, but wishes to play the final round, that is okay!

Time Control: G/70, d/10 (70 minutes per player with 10 second delay before each move)

2 Sections: "1600+ Premier" and "U1600 & Unrated".  Unrated players must play in the U1600 section.

Pairings

New USCF members: New USCF members are unrated and will be paired in the U1600 section. Score-keeping is required, It is highly encouraged to bring your own scoresheet and a writing utensil, as we provide these, but are limited on a first-come, first-serve basis. We also have a limited supply of boards and clocks.

Round Time: Promptly at 7:05pm. The building gets locked by maintenance crew around 6:50 PM and no later than 7:05 PM. If locked out, please knock on window or text/call if going to be late.

Note: In case of inclement weather and/or extenuating circumstances (i.e. car accident backing up I-25), the TD reserves the right to delay the start time of the tournament on a week-by-week basis.

Venue: Denver Metro Bridge Studio. 5250 Leetsdale Dr.  Suite 135,  Denver, CO 80246 

One block south of Leetsdale. Large office building. First floor. Can enter through front or back entrance.

Fees

For July only, a one dollar off per round promotion is happening if you are signed up to receive text messages from the affiliate.

One round: $6 for adults, $5 for kids 14 and under!

Monthly: $24 for adults, $20 for kids 14 and under!

Players pay the merchant fee for credit card transactions online and in person. ($6.32 for adult $5.29 for U14 one round; $24.80 for adult month; $20.69 for U14 one month)

Cash is accepted--please bring exact change when paying with cash.

Prizes

Based on entries! Minimum 70% of Entry fees going to prize fund!

"1600+ Premier": 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes, U1900 prize, Upset prize!

"U1600": 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes, U1300 prize and upset prize!

Registration

(Must have USCF# to register)

Online registration preferred, or upon arrival to the club prior to 7:00 PM. Potential players appearing after 6:59 PM will only be accommodated if it does not disrupt the pairing schedule.

Limited to 52 players per round due to venue capacity.  Priority given to tournament players over casual players, and first come first served (check in at the registation desk).

USCF Rule Changes

Rule 13D (late arrival for game) is changed from 1 hour to 30 minutes.  Any late arrival after 30 minutes will result in a forfeit.

Tournament Director Policy

The Chief TD for each round will play for free and will be eligible for prizes. Only one TD plays for free each round.

Bye Policy: 1 half-point bye is available on request for any one round. Must commit to last round bye before the prior round.

Byes for missed rounds must be requested before the player is paired in a subsequent round.  Once paired, byes for missed rounds cannot be requested.
