The Kansas Senior Championship
Saturday-Sunday, May 7-8, 2022
Basic Information: Four-round, Swiss-System events.
Games held at the Riley County Seniors Services Center, 301 N 4th St, Manhattan, KS
66502. Ample parking on site. Rated by the United States Chess Federation. Masks may
be required, based on county health department regulations.
Registration: Saturday 5/7/22 8:30 – 9:45 AM. All players (even those preregistered)
who do not check-in by 9:45 AM may be given a bye for round one. Players may
request a single half-point bye for any round, by 9:45 AM.
Round Times:
Saturday Rd. 1 10:00 AM, Rd. 2 5:00 PM.
Sunday Rd. 3 10:00 AM, Rd. 4 5:00 PM.
Sections: Kansas Senior Open, open only to Kansas
residents who will be 50 years old on or before July 31st, 2022.
Time Control: All moves must be completed in 90 minutes, with a 30-second
increment per move starting from move 1.
Kansas Senior: No entry fee.
Required: USCF (https://new.uschess.org/join-us-chess) and KCA memberships required.
KCA $7/year, or $10 for a family. All payments made on-site during registration, cash
only. Please bring boards, sets and clocks if you have them. Limited equipment
available.
Prize Fund:
Kansas Senior: 1st $50 plus bid to the Irwin Tournament of Senior State Champs.
