June Phoenix Saturday Blitz

FREE PIZZA AND DRINKS FOR THOSE PLAYING THE GAME 30 CHALLENGE IN THE MORNING AND THE BLITZ!!!

Location:           Phoenix Chess Academy: 18440 N. 7th Street #8, Phoenix AZ 85022. 

                           Easy freeway access from AZ Loop 101, exit southbound on 7th ST (exit 26).

Format:              6 round Swiss. Time control: Game in 5 minutes. Boards, sets, and clocks will be provided. 

Registration:    Go to www.phoenixchessacademy.com . USCF membership is required. New or renewing USCF members are welcome. Renewals are

                           available at the site. Official rating will be used for Swiss pairings and prize purposes.

Entry Fee:         $25.00 by 06/14; $30 by 06/16; $35 same day.

Sections and Schedule:

Under 1200 and Over 1200.  No playing up allowed! Highest USCF rating between Regular, Quick, and Blitz will be used for sections.

                            Round 1- 2:00 PM, Round 2- 2:20 PM, Round 3- 2:40 PM, Round 4- 3:00 PM. Round 5- 3:20 PM, Round 6- 3:40 PM. 

                            Awards Ceremony will start right after last game is over.  Half point Byes are available in all 6 rounds and (Max 2) and must be

                            requested before round 2. Requesting a zero-point Bye late in the tournament is considered the same as withdrawing.

Prizes:               Over 1200:   Cash for top three. 1st - 30%, 2nd - 14%, 3rd - 10%

                           Under 1200: Trophy for top three.
