July 4 Owensboro Match Play Knockout Championships

Owensboro Match Play Championships! 9-6:30 or 7 pm 

Start time: 9:00 am (Check-in between 8:15-8:45 am)

Entry Fee $25 

Two Sections: 

8 Player Match Play Elimination Bracket (1 vs. 8 seeding); Each match is two games of G40+5 (Armageddon if necessary for tiebreaks) 

16 Player Match Play Elimination Bracket (1 vs. 16 seeding); Each match is two games of G25+5 (Armageddon tiebreak)

Consolation Bracket for eliminated players; Players will get 6-8 rated games respectively depending on which bracket. 

PRIZES: 1st: $150 minimum each section; 2nd: $75 (based on 24 players)

85-90% of prize fund for prizes: 10-15% for chess supplies/ratings fees/chess scholarships etc.

Rd. 1: 9-12 (2 games of G40+5) Tied matches will be resolved by Armageddon game immediately following match. 

Lunch Break: 12-12:30 pm

Rd. 2: 12:30-3:30 pm

Rd. 3: ASAP

16 player group:

Rd. 1: 9-11 am (2 games of G25+5) Tied matches will be resolved by Armageddon game immediately following match. 

Rd. 2: ASAP or 11:30-1:30 if Armageddon

Lunch Break: 1:30-2 PM (subject to change)

Rd. 3: 2-4 pm 

Rd. 4: ASAP

Top Board will be DGT

Many restaurants within 5 minutes
