Event Overview

Schedule

8:30 Doors open. There is no check-in; all registered players will be paired.

9:30 Round One for all sections will begin following announcements in the playing hall.

​Subsequent rounds are paired back to back with a break for lunch. Awards ceremonies take place for each section after that section's final round is complete.

​For late arrivals or last-minute cancellations, send a text to 918-978-1899. This helps us start on time and avoid pairing players with no-shows.

​Sections & Prizes

1: Grades K–3 rated under 600

  • Five rounds, G/30
  • 🏆 Trophies for first, second, and third-place individuals. Outstanding Performance trophies for players scoring 4.0+ who did not place in the top three. Trophies for first, second, and third-place school teams and for first-place club team.
  • 🏅Medals for players with scores of 3.0–3.5​​.

2: Grades 4–6 rated under 600

  • Five rounds, G/30
  • 🏆 Trophies for first, second, and third-place individuals. Outstanding Performance trophies for players scoring 4.0+ who did not place in the top three. Trophies for first, second, and third-place school teams and for first-place club team.
  • 🏅Medals for players with scores of 3.0–3.5​​. ​

3: All grades rated under 900

K-6th graders rated under 600 may play in either section 1 or 2 according to their grade.

  • Five rounds, G/30
  • 🏆 Trophies for first, second, and third-place individuals and Outstanding Performance trophies for players with 4.0 or higher who did not place in the top three. Trophies for first, second, and third-place school teams and for first-place club team.
  • 🏅Medals for players with scores of 3.0–3.5​​

4: All grades rated under 1300

  • Four rounds, G/40;d5
  • Clocks required
  • Notation strongly encouraged
  • 🏆 Trophies for first, second, and third-place individuals. Trophies for first-place school team and club team.
  • 🏅Medals for players with scores of 2.5 or higher.

5 (Premier): All grades rated 1300+*

  • Four rounds, G/40;d5
  • Clocks and notation required
  • 🏆 Trophies for first, second, and third-place individuals. Trophy for top U1600. Trophies for first-place school team and club team.
  • 🏅Medals for players with scores of 2.5 or higher.

​*Players with a rating of 1200+ may play up to Premier. ​

Equipment

Sets are provided for tournament games, but players are encouraged to bring their own for skittles (waiting area).

​Scoresheets and pencils are provided.

Clocks are provided for sections 4 & 5 only. Players in other sections may bring their own. A good selection of tournament-suitable clocks can be found here.​

Membership

A current US Chess membership is required for all players. OSCO offers discounted memberships to all registered players, including non-Oklahoma residents. If your player has never had a US Chess membership, or if their membership will have expired by the date of the tournament, visit the appropriate link below after you register.

This is NOT an automatic process. Our volunteers will use the information you provide in the forms below to get a US Chess ID for you child or renew their membership. 
 

New players: Grades K–3 rated under 600

Oklahoma residents: First-time membership, Section 2 or higher

All players: Renew an expired membership

Other states: First-time membership, Section 2 or higher

​Registration

Registration is on our website HERE and ends February 19. No registrations will be accepted after the deadline.

Entry is $25/player. Parents registering three or more siblings at the same time: $20/player.
