Format: 5-round Double Swiss Style Blitz tournament

Time Control:
     G/3;+2

One Section:
     Open section: USCF and FIDE rated

Important:
     • USCF and FIDE rated.
     • USCF membership required (may be purchased or renewed at on site)
     • FIDE ID required. FIDE IDs are free. USA-based players can request one here: FIDE ID Request Form
       or may be requested on site.
     • January 2024 USCF Regular ratings will be used for pairings, and prize eligibility.
       Other ratings may be used if higher. The decision of the Chief Tournament Director regarding
       eligibility, rating adjustments, conversions, unofficial ratings, or other rating issues is final.
     • Boards, sets, AND clocks will be provided.

Prizes: $300 Total Prize Fund (based on 20 entries):
    1st:           $100
    2nd:            $65
    3rd:             $35
    1st U2000:  $50
    1st U1400:  $30
    1st U800:    $20

Entry Fee: $25 early; $30 late; $35 on-site

Online Registration: Rising Star FIDE Blitz Registration
Early online registration until midnight MST January 10.
Late online registration until midnight MST January 13.
On-site registration is at 9:00 am until 7:00 pm January 14
A maximum of three half-point byes are available. Half-point byes must be requested no later than
immediately before the start of Round 3. Half-point byes for Rds 3 thru 5 must be requested
before the start of Round 3 and may not be revoked after Round 3 starts.

Schedule: Round 1 will start at 7:30 pm or at the conclusion of round 3 of the Rising Star FIDE Classic tournament,
                  whichever is later. Subsequent rounds will be paired as soon as possible.

Refunds: Refunds may be requested until one hour before the start of Round 1. No refunds will be given after that time.
                 All refunds will incur a 5% processing fee.
