• Five-round Swiss; three-day and two-day schedules up to two half-point byes allowed. Byes must be committed 1 hr before Round 2

  • Three-day schedule: Friday at 7 pm, Saturday at 12 noon, Saturday at 5:30 pm, Sunday at 11 am, Sunday at 4:30 pm

  • Two-day schedule: Round 1 on Saturday at 9:30 am. Both schedules merge from round 2.

• On-site registration closes 30 minutes before the start of round one (after that players may register with a half-point bye)

• Five sections: Premier (FIDE-rated), U1900, U1600, U1300, and U1000

• Premier section is FIDE rated and follows FIDE pairing rules.

• $5,600 guaranteed prize fund:

  • Premier: $1200/$600/$300

  • U1900: $1000/$500/$200

  • U1600: $500/$250/$100

  • U1300: $350/$150

  • U1000: $300/$150

• Time control:

  • G/90+30

  • Default/Forfeit Time: 1 hour or full time control for rounds less than 60 mins.

• Entry fee for all sections except lowest section: $125 by 5/31, $135 by 6/21, $150 on/after 6/22 (on-site registration closes 30 minutes before round 1)

• Entry fee for lowest section (U1000): $95 by 5/31, $105 by 6/21, $120 on/after 6/22 (on-site registration closes 30 minutes before round 1)

  • Free entry to GMs and IMs ($125 deducted from prizes)

  • Re-entries are permitted in all sections except Premier -- the price to re-enter is $50.

• Hotel reservations with chess rate available. $119/night + taxes. Must mention 'Independence Day Chess tournament' or book through the following link Book Here. Last day to get chess rate 06/09. Free Parking onsite.

• Masks are optional. Spectators are welcome.

• Side Events: Scholastic Tournament on Saturday 7/1 and Blitz Tournament on Saturday 7/1 night
