ICA Open Championships

ICA Open Championships (1800+)

Eligibility: Open to players with a USCF rating of 1800 or higher in either the monthly published rating supplement or their live rating based on recently submitted tournaments.

Format: Three-round Swiss, USCF rated. Time control: G/60 d5.

Round Times: 2:00 PM, 4:15 PM, and 6:30 PM.

Entry Fee: $50 early bird; $60 regular registration. Free entry for GMs and IMs; email Click here to show mail address for a registration coupon. Registration closes at noon on the day of the tournament or when capacity reaches 60 players.

Prizes: $1,000 prize fund based on 30 entries; 70% guaranteed. Prizes will be distributed according to standard USCF rules.

• Over Age 55: $80

Byes: One half-point bye is available if requested before the start of Round 1.

Equipment: Bring your own clock. Boards and sets are provided.

Late Arrivals: Handled according to standard USCF regulations.

Parents and Caregivers: A designated waiting area is available for parents and caregivers.

Parking and Entry: Ample parking is available behind the church, next to a small playground. Enter through the door marked “International Chess Academy” and proceed to the second floor.

Public Transportation:

• Train: Glen Rock–Main Line and Glen Rock–Boro Hall NJ Transit stations are within walking distance.
• Bus: Routes 164, 164B, 164E, and 175B stop directly in front of ICA at Rock Road and Central Avenue.

Cancellation Policy: Cancellations received by 10:00 AM on the day of the tournament receive a full refund. Cancellations after 10:00 AM are nonrefundable. Cancel by email or phone.
