FORMAT: 5-round team Swiss, G/25 d10.
TEAMS: 2-player teams — sibling pairs or parent+child pairs. Teams register as a unit; a team name is required (family name recommended — no controversial names). The TD may check family ID. Board order rule: if board 1 is lower-rated than board 2 by more than 100 points (unrated counts as 0), the higher-rated player must play board 1. No board shifting if board 1 is absent.
CAPACITY: 30 teams (60 players).
ENTRY FEE (per team): $60 through Dec 22, 2026; $90 through Jan 14, 2027; $120 through Jan 24, 2027; $150 on site.
PRIZES: Trophies for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place teams.
SCHEDULE: Rounds 10:00 AM, 11:25 AM, 1:20 PM, 2:45 PM, 4:05 PM; awards ~5:25 PM.
SCORING: Team points — 2 for a team win, 1 for a draw, 0 for a loss. Tiebreaks: sum of individual points, board-1 points, Sonneborn-Berger, coin toss.
BYES: No byes except 0-point byes. Pairing-allocated byes and forfeit team wins count as 2 team points.
CANCELLATION: 50% refund before Jan 22, 2027; no refunds after.
EQUIPMENT: Provided by the organizer (bring a pen or pencil). Notation is mandatory unless a player has under 5 minutes remaining.
SCANNING: Electronic device scanning (“wanding”). No phones or smartwatches in the playing area unless medically permitted by the arbiter; a storage box will be provided.
PHOTOGRAPHY: By registering, you consent to photography and video recording at the event.
UNRATEDS: Welcome, but must be active US Chess members.
