Henrico Chess Academy: February Scholastic and Rapid Tournament

Tournaments will be held in the Upstairs Common Room at Publix, 2250 John Rolfe Pkwy, Henrico, VA 23233

What:  There will be an Open section and a Scholastic section. The Scholastic will be a 3 rounds Swiss style at G/25;+5

The Open Section (Rapid) will be a 5 rounds Swiss style at G/15;+5 

When:  Saturday, February 10, 2024

First Round for all sections is at 1:00pm, registration ends at 12:45pm

The TD will go over rules and pairings before the 1st round starts. 

Where:  The Upstairs Common Room at the Publix at John Rolfe Parkway

Notes:  Please bring a clock and board if possible. Touch-move is in effect. 

Prizes:  Open section: 1st Place  $50 guaranteed with 4 entrees in the section,
                                        with 15+ entrees in the section 2nd place $30, 3rd Place $20
              Scholastic section: 1st Place trophy and medals for  2nd and 3rd.
                                

Registration:  Open $30 until February 4, then $40.  Scholastic $25 until February 4 and then $35

Registration and check-in will be between 12:15pm and 12:45pm. Anyone who is not checked in or in line to register 15 minutes before the first round may miss the first round.  

Open Section Rounds G/15;+5 

Round 1 at 1:00pm, Rd 2 at 1:50pm, Rd 3 at 2:40pm, Rd 4 at 3:30pm, Rd 5 at 4:20pm

Scholastic Section Rounds G/25;+5

Round 1 at 1:00pm, Rd 2 at 2:10pm, Rd 3 at 3:20pm
