Grupology December Rapid Scholastic Tournament

Tournaments take place every month at our Grupology Burlingame location.

Location

Eligibility

• Players must have a paid US Chess Federation (USCF) youth under 19 individual membership to compete in the rated sections.
• Expiration date of USCF membership must be later than the day of the tournament.
• Grupology is partnered with USCF to activate memberships. Select this option upon registration to sign up or renew your membership.

Sections

• K–12th Rated (4 games)
  • 2 or 3 sections depending on number of registrations: 600+, under 600
  • TDs reserve the right to adjust the sections based on the players signed up to better serve them.
• K–8th Non-Rated (4 games)

Schedule

• Doors Open: 8:50am
• Start Time: Game 1 starts promptly at 9:00am.
• Rounds: All sections will play 4 games. This is not an elimination competition.
  • Round 1: 9:00am
  • Round 2: 9:35am
  • Round 3: 10:10am
  • Round 4: 10:45am
• Awards Ceremony: ~11:20am
• Byes: Limit one 1/2-point bye if requested prior to the first round. No last round byes.
• Time Control: G/15
• Rating: Games will be USCF quick-rated.
• Notation: Notation not required.
