Greater Peoria Open

The Greater Peoria Open has been held annually since 1965, usually in the spring. We aim to provide a high-quality tournament with strong competition to allow club players from the central Illinois area to mix and play games with Masters and other strong players. Players are divided into two Sections: Open and Reserve. Anyone can play in the Open Section, giving everyone an opportunity to play against a Master and other strong competition. The Reserve Section is restricted to players rated 1400 or below to provide competitive games for everyone.

• Round 1 - 9:00 am
• Round 2 - 1 pm
• Round 3 - 5 pm
• Round 4 - 9 am
• Round 5 - 1 pm

* Players arriving after 8:45 are not guaranteed to be paired for round 1.

• Expert (2000-2199) $100 & $50
• Class A (1800-1999) $100 & $50
• Class B (1600-1799) $100 & $50
• Class C (Below 1600) $100 & $50

Upset . . . $25 (200 Point difference to qualify)

 

Reserve Section

Class Prizes Guaranteed on 3 per class. . .

• Class E (1000-1199) $66 & $36
• Class F (Below 1000) $66 $36

Upset . . . $25 (200 Point difference to qualify)

Note: A class may be combined with a higher class if there are less than 3 players in that class. The top 3 rated players in the section are considered prize players, not class players. If there are not 3 players in the top class, all players in that class are considered to be prize players. (example: only 2 Masters & 2 Experts attend, then all 4 players would be prize players and no expert prize would be awarded).
