Greater Mid-Atlantic Chess Championships with Magnus Academy

This is a US Chess rated Swiss style tournament. There are seven different sections for players depending on their age and skill.  Sections include K-1 Beginner (U-400), 2-3 Beginner (U-400), 4-5 Beginner (U-400), 6-12 Beginner (U-800), K-5 Intermediate (400-800), K-12 Advanced (800-1200), and K-12 Championship (1200+). Participants play only against opponents in their own section.  The first round is at 10:00am for all sections.  The tournament concludes around 4:00pm with an awards ceremony where the top players and top school receive trophies. 

* All sections are non-elimination, and all players participate in all rounds. Every section has five rounds except Advanced and Championship which have four rounds.
* We provide FREE US Chess Federation memberships for all participants, a $17 value!
* For players using chess clocks, the time control is G/25 with a 5-second time delay for all sections except Advanced and Championship which are G/45 with a 5-second delay.
* Prices increase by $10 the Monday before the tournament.
