Sections and time controls:  There will be five rounds in each of the lower sections. The open section will consist of four rounds.  This is a Swiss System tournament.  All players play in all rounds.  No one is eliminated.

Unrated K-4 (G/30)

Unrated 5-8 (G/30)

K-8 Rated Under 500  (G/30; d5)

K-8 Rated Under 1000  (G/30; d5)

K-8 Rated Open (G/45; d5)

All sets, clocks and scoresheets will be provided.  Notation is highly encouraged, but not mandatory.

Entry fee:  We strive to run efficient and affordable tournaments.  The early entry fee will be $25.00 by Monday, February 23.  After this date, the entry fee will be $40.00.  Please register early.  No additional registrations will be accepted after 4:00 p.m. on Friday, February 27.  

Schedule:  Doors open at 8:00.  Announcements will be at 8:45.  No section changes after this time.  Round 1 will begin immediately after announcements. 

Concessions:  We will offer coffee and doughnuts for breakfast.  We’ll also serve snacks and the Glen Oak Meal (slice of pizza, chips, cookie and drink for $5.00).

Awards:  Trophies will be awarded to those scoring 3.5 or more points (in the open section, 2.5 or higher is the trophy threshold).  Team trophies will be awarded to the top three teams in each of the rated sections.  A team consists of two or more players from the same school.  The top four scorers from that school will count toward the team award.
