Game 60 Challenge

Four round Swiss. Time control: Game in 60 minutes with 5 sec increment. Boards, sets, clocks and scoresheets will be provided. 

Registration: Go to www.phoenixchessacademy.com . USCF membership is required. New or renewing USCF members are welcome. Renewals are available at the site. Highest rating will be used for Swiss pairings and prize purposes. 

Sections: Open, Under 1700 & Under 1200. No Playing up allowed! Sections will be combined in case a section has less than 4 players registered. 

A player will automatically forfeit the game if going in the bathroom with a cellphone.

Schedule: Check in and register until 8:45 AM. Rounds start at 9:00 AM- 11:20 AM- 1:40 PM- 4:00 PM. Half point Byes are available in all 4 rounds (Max 2). All byes must be requested before the start of round 2. Requesting a zero-point bye late in the tournament is considered the same as withdrawing. 

Entry Fee: Open & U1700: $40 by 01/14; $45 by 01/16; $50 Same Day. U1200: $30 by 01/14; $35 by 01/16; $40 Same Day. Full refund will be issued to players who withdraw at least an hour before the first round. In cases where a registered player does not show up for the tournament without prior notice, they will not be eligible for a refund.

Prizes: Open & U1700: 1st - 30%, 2nd - 14%, 3rd - 10%. Under 1200: Trophies for Top 3.
