Fun On The Farm

Join us for an afternoon of outdoor fun among the chickens, ducks, geese, and guinea fowl as we play chess to help reduce food insecurity in Montgomery County, Maryland.  

The entry fee is at least $10 in cash or $10 worth of food from the list provided in the following link: https://www.communityfoodrescue.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/Carribean.pdf.  For those unable to access this link, the food items are: carrot, collard greens, corn, curry powder, fish, fresh /dry beans black/red, peas, plantain, red pepper, sweet potato. 

Each month, we will use the "foods most requested list" from a different culture, surveyed by the Montgomery County Food Rescue Network program.  All food and/or money collected will be donated directly to the local food pantry through the Food Rescue Network.

Prizes will be a dozen fresh eggs or produce from our farm for each of 1st- 3rd place players. 

4 SS games, G25, unrated.  Additional opportunity for Blitz play, if time allows.  Advance registration ends at 12pm on Sunday.  Round 1 starts at 1pm. Round 2 starts at 2pm.  Round 3 starts at 3pm, and Round 4 starts at 4pm.  Boards and pieces will be provided, but please bring your own clock. The Chief Tournament Director is NTD Sam Shoykhet.
