Friendship Oak Classic

The Friendship Oak Classic will be held in the beautiful and spacious Hardy Hall Ballroom.

Tournament details: Four round, three-section (U800, U1200 & open/unrated), swiss system, G/40;d5, USCF rated tournament.

Prize fund: 1st, 2nd, 3rd OPEN: $300-$150-$75 U1200:$100-$50-$25 U800: $100-$50-$25

Tiebreaks: Cash prizes to be split among all tied entrants. Place will be determined by Modified Median/Solkoff/Cumulative Score/Cumulative Scores of Opposition

Date: Saturday, February 25th, registration 9:00AM - 9:45AM, first round pairs at 10:00AM.

Round times: Rated 10:00AM, 12:00PM, [meal break], 3:00PM, 5:00PM, prizes at 7:00PM. Round times are tentative and subject to change.

Venue: Hardy Hall Ballroom/University Club on the University of Southern Miss Gulf Park campus. 730 Beach Blvd E, Long Beach, MS 39560 Free Parking

Pairing: Please choose your section at registration. If you have a regular rating and a quick rating, the higher rating will be used. If you have only a regular rating or a quick rating, that rating will be used. You may play up a section. If you have no rating you will have to enter the open section unless you can make a case otherwise.

Eligibility: $25 entry fee if purchased by 2/22/23. $30 at the door. Capacity limited to first 80 players, pre-register to guarantee your slot. At least 10 entries to be held for day of registration. Current USCF membership required.

Bye policy: Two 0.5 point byes available upon request, must be made prior to pairing round three in non-emergency situations. Bye requests cannot be canceled following the start of round 3.
