Event Overview

A 3-round swiss-system tournament, the 23rd consecutive monthly event at this venue.

This month we honor Frank Marshall (1877-1944), US Chess Champion from 1909 to 1936. In 1915, he led the formation of the Marshall Chess Club in Greenwich Village, NYC, one of the oldest chess clubs in the United States. 

One rated section; accelerated pairings in Round 1 if more than 8 entrants. Two rated sections if more than 16 entrants.

Time control: Game/30 minutes, 30-s increment added with each move played (i.e., G/30+30).

Game notation required by all players.

Boards, sets, clocks, scoresheets, and pencils provided.

Non-cash prizes awarded. 

Food not allowed in library venue. Bring lunch to be consumed outside. 

Advance registration encouraged. On-site registration opens at 9:45, closes at 10:10 sharp.

Rounds at 10:30, 12:30, 2:30.  Awards ceremony and group photo at 4:30pm.

No entry fee. Donations requested to offset expenses.
