Forest Chess Challenge 2025

Location: Penn's restaurant, 1550 MS Highway 35, Forest

Exit 88 on Interstate 20 - east of Jackson

venue is visible across from the interstate off-ramp to the right and behind Chevron station on opposite side of Highway 35 if coming from West/Jackson direction. If coming from East/Meridian, cross over I-20 and venue is on left.

QUICK AND BLITZ

ACTIVE U.S. Chess Federation membership ID# is REQUIRED for all games

ALL RATED SECTIONS - Open and U1000

For pairing purposes on all games, regular ratings will be based on most recent available USCF supplement.

Swiss System (no elimination); Notation is not required.

Registration and check in - 8 until 9:30 a.m. Please arrive by 9:30 a.m.

Rules briefing 9:45 a.m.; First Round 10:00 a.m.

Rounds 2, 3, 4, 5, may start early if all players are seated and ready

(1) 10:00-10:30; (2) 10:30-11:00; (3) 11:00-11:30; (4) 11:30-12:00; (5) 12:00-12:30

Blitz

Prizes

Prize fund will come from 80 percent of registrations received

First and Second place finishes will receive awards in each section

If sections must be combined, a new prize pool will be calculated

If sections are combined, an award will be given for best performance among U1000 players

Important Notes

• Byes due to inability to pair = 1.0     
• Requested byes = 0.5 (only 1 bye allowed in each, Quick and Blitz)
• In case of ties, prize funds will be split among winners per USCF rules.
