First Sunday of the Month Quads (Open and Scholastic sections)

The Myerstown Quads is held the first Sunday of each month at:

New Beginnings Church

430 East Lincoln Ave

Myerstown, PA 17067 

Time: Doors open from 1:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

Rd 1 --- 2:00 p.m.

Rd 2 --- 3:30 p.m.

Rd 3 --- 5:00 p.m

Registration:

• 1:00 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. on tournament day for last-minute entries. (If you are running late, call or text 717-813-1427 to register)
• Must be a member of USCF (United States Chess Federation) to play. Join USCF now at https://new.uschess.org/join-us-chess.
• Preregister by sending your name and USCF ID and which section you would like to play to myerstownchess@gmail.com.

Sections:

• Open
• Scholastic

Format:

• Quads (Group of 4 players - each player plays each other player - 3 games total). In case of extra players, the lowest rated quad will be a Swiss.
• Time control: G/40; d5 (Players get 40 minutes each, with a 5-second delay for each move)
• Rounds: Round 1 at 2:00; Round 2 at 3:30; Round 3 at 5:00. Rounds 2 and 3 may start sooner if all games in the previous round are finished and players agree.

Entry Fee:

• Open: $30
• Scholastic: $10

Prizes:

• Open: $100 to winner (Ties split evenly)
• Scholastic: Medals (Every player gets a medal); One random winner receives a chess book!
