Chess Tournament for Charity

Join us on Saturday, December 2, 2023, at 9 A.M for a fun-filled day of chess tournaments at the RESERVOIR YMCA 6023 Lakeshore Park, Brandon, MS 39047, USA!

Access to healthy food is an ongoing issue for many families, with 24 percent of caregivers reporting their households are food insecure. The issue can be especially challenging during the holidays or summer when families lose access to school meals and face the difficulty of not being able to feed their children.
 

ENTRY FEE:  $27

By playing in this tournament you are feeding a child or an adult three nutritional meals a day for 10 + days only for $27.00.

 

Please keep in mind all donations are welcome and all donations and registration funds will be given back to the YMCA FOOD AND NUTRITION PROGRAM.

Whether you're a rated or non-rated player, we welcome you to attend our chess tournament while supporting and helping a good cause. Any efforts, donations, sponsors, and participants are impactful and make a difference.

We are welcoming all ages, non-rated, and rated players!

There are Three Divisions:

7 to 15 years olds Unrated Unrated Time Control: G/25+5 4 Rounds

16 years old & over Unrated Unrated Time Control: G/25+5 4 Rounds

Any age USCF Rated Quads Rated Time Control: G/45+10 3 Rounds

 

PRIZES AND TROPHIES AWARDED TO THREE TOP PERFORMERS IN EACH DIVISION

  • Lunch, Drinks, and Snacks will be provided!
  • If divisions are finishing ahead of schedule and all participants/guardians agree, round times for that particular section MAY be moved ahead of schedule
  • Everyone will play in a round unless there is a “bye” due to an odd number of player

  • Chess sets (board, pieces, clocks) will be provided but we welcome you to bring your own sets
