Fall Saturday Swiss

Join us in October for a Saturday Swiss! Unlike our GR Action Challenge, this will be a slightly slower event, divided into upper and lower sections. These Swiss events will become more regular and will be offered to continue to support our chess community.

Upper (1400+), Lower (U1400), and Scholastic (kids only, unrated) sections played at two time controls for a full day of chess.

Where: 1157 Northlawn St NE, Grand Rapids MI
When: October 18th or 25th (finalizing date)
Time: 9:00am registration/check-in with rounds beginning either at 9:30/10/11 depending on your section. See more info below.

Upper Swiss

Entry Fee: $35 for GRCC Members / $45 for Non-GRCC Members
Prizes: 1st Place – $300 (b/15). Prizes will be adjusted based on the percentage of attendance.

Lower Swiss

5 Rounds – G/25;d5
10:00, 11:15, 1:15, 2:30, 4:00
Entry Fee: $35 for GRCC Members / $45 for Non-GRCC Members

Scholastic Swiss

11:00, 11:45, 1:00, 1:45, 2:45
Prizes: 1st-3rd Place Plaques
Entry Fee: $25 for all participants
Note: This section will not be USCF-rated but will be run according to USCF rules. Except for the requirement to keep a notation.
