Evergreen Valley High School Chess Tournament

Date, Time and Location: 

• Sunday, November 17, 2024, 12:45 PM - 4:00 PM
• Location: 3300 Quimby Rd, San Jose, CA 95148

Registration: 

• Each player needs to fill out the following two forms to register
  • Player Registration Form 1
  • Player Registration Form 2 (Paid) Please enter Player Name
• EVHS Chess Tournament Guest Pass (Required)
  • Exceptions: Players from Evergreen Valley High School and players from schools on the Has Advisor Attending List don't need to do or bring Guest Pass
  • Needs to be submitted physically in person at tournament check-in
  • Print it, fill it out and get it signed, and then bring it to the chess tournament
    • Needs signatures from parent and admin of the school that the player is from
  • Write “Alex Nguyen” as EVHS Host

Entry Fees: 

• $11.35 Online
• Need to pay online by the day of the chess tournament

Check-In:

• Player Check-In: 12:45 PM - 1:00 PM
• Chaperone Check-In: 12:30 PM - 12:45 PM
• Chaperones need to check in for players from their school to play as a team. If going to be late, email nguyenalex0190@students.esuhsd.org

Sections:

• USCF Rated (USCF membership required)
• Unrated

Format: 

• Individual and Team Tournament
• Rounds: 5
• Time Control: G/10 d3 (10 minutes + 3 second delay)
• All played games in the rated section will be USCF Quick Rated

Prizes: 

• Trophies, Chess.com Memberships, and Medals for top scoring Individuals in Unrated and Rated Sections
• Trophies for top scoring teams
  • Scores for teams counted together across both sections

• 1st Place Trophy

• 2nd Place Trophy

• 3rd Place Trophy

• 1st Place Trophy & 3-month Diamond Chess.com Membership
• 2nd Place Trophy & 2-month Diamond Chess.com Membership

• 1st u1200 medal & 3-month Diamond Chess.com Membership
• 2nd u1200 medal 

Unrated Section (Individual):
