The Emory Tate Chess Classic is sponsored by Roots 101 African American Museum, Dr. Frank Simon, Make It Count Counseling, and the Kentucky Chess Ambassadors on April 26, Saturday, 2025. Registration time is 1030 am. It is best to pre-register at Click here to show mail address by April 20. Please send the athlete's name, email contact address, age, Grade and school. ALL are welcome to compete!

 

The daughter of the late Emory Tate will be present to give remarks. 

 

There will be three sections...K/5, K/7 and K/9. The sections are quads, round robin, 3 rounds, at G/25 (no time delay). The overall top 3 teams receive a team trophy. There are 1st place medals awarded for each quad. Chess Dollars can be earned and redeemed. If an athlete redeems 15 Chess dollars he or she receives a five dollar McDonalds gift card. The entry fee is a seven dollar donation.
