Event Overview

Structure: The event is four rounds. Pairings are determined Swiss-style.
Schedule: Rounds start at 9:30 am, 11:45, 2:00 pm, and 4:30.
Time controls: G/60 d5
Byes: One half-point byes is available per player. It must be requested prior to the start of round one.
Prizes: 1st = $200; 2nd = $150; 3rd = $100; Top U1400 = $50; Top U1200 = $50. Prizes are based on 25 entries; will not reduce below 70%.
Entry fee: $40 (until April 14), $50 after.

Equipment: Boards and sets are provided for all sections. All players must bring clocks.
For parents: ICA and the Bergen school district kindly reminds parents this is a large event that does not include free babysitting. School and event staff will supervise children during games in priogress, but cannot manage children between games. The overwhelming majority of children are well behaved, but there are an occasional few who become bored and engage in dangerous or destructive behavior.
- Minors not in games must be supervised at all times. Children who are not competing should be with their parents or an assigned guardian at all times.
- Parents arriving or leaving without children may be logged regarding the name of their child and who will be responsible for them in their absence.
- For their safety, adults and children should not enter locations marked off limits.
- No skateboards or bicycles are allowed in the building
