Event Overview

Note:  This event will take place at our Glen Rock location, as opposed to Bergen County Academies.

Rounds: The event is four rounds (ie; win or lose, all players play four games each).  Pairings are determined Swiss-style.

Time control: G30;d5 for all sections


Byes: Up to two half-point byes are available per player.  They must be requested prior to the start of round one.  Late entrants will receive a half-point bye for round 1.

Schedule: First round starts at 2pm for all sections. Tournament should finish no later than 7pm.

Entry fee: $40 (until May 11), $50 after.

Equipment:  Boards, sets, and clocks are provided for all sections.

For parents:  ICA kindly reminds parents this is a large event that does not include free babysitting.  Event staff will supervise children during games in priogress, but cannot manage children between games.  The overwhelming majority of children are well behaved, but there are an occasional few who become bored and engage in dangerous or destructive behavior. Section 1 -- (K-2, unrated games)
Restricted to unrated players; K through 2nd grade.
Round 1 starts at 2:00 PM (tournament will end at approximately 5:00PM)
All players with 2.5 or more points will receive a trophy.  All players with 2 or more points will receive a medal. Trophies also awarded to the top three finishers.
No USCF membership required.  This section is not rated.

Section 2 -- (K-6, unrated games)
Restricted to unrated players; K through 6th grade.
Round 1 starts at 2:00 PM (tournament will end at approximately 6:00 PM)
All players with 2.5 or more points will receive a trophy.  Trophies are also awarded to the top three finishers.
No USCF membership required.  This section is not rated.

Section 3 -- (K-12, under 800, rated games)
Restricted to players rated below 800; K through 8th grade.
Rounds: 2:00PM, 3:15PM, 4:30PM, 5:45PM
All players with 2.5 or more points will receive a trophy.  Trophies are also awarded to the top three finishers.

Section 4 -- (K-12, under 1200, rated games)
Restricted to players rated below 1200; K through 8th grade.
Rounds: 2:00PM, 3:15PM, 4:30PM, 5:45PM
All players with 2.5 or more points will receive a trophy.  Trophies are also awarded to the top three finishers.
